Shout Out-Olive Street Cafe

124The relatively new Olive Street Cafe in Creve Coeur is making an effort to use local Saint Louis products, accommodate gluten free diners and serve a delicious, varied menu for breakfast and lunch. Not to mention that it’s super exciting to have somewhere new open up that isn’t downtown or in Forest Park! Continue reading Shout Out-Olive Street Cafe

Rooster

roost5Rooster is one of the many local St. Louis restaurants owned by David Bailey as part of all six of the Baileys’ sister restaurants.  We discovered this restaurant on a hunt for gluten free crepes and were pleased with Rooster’s food as well as their environmental practices.  This trendy café was very busy on the Sunday afternoon when we went and it was clear that many locals enjoyed the delicious brunch menu.  We are definitely looking forward to dining at the rest of the Bailey restaurants and hope they are just as enjoyable!

Winslow’s Home

January 2015 248Winslow’s Home is a unique restaurant dedicated to providing fresh and local foods. How fresh is it? A lot of the produce comes straight from their own garden, into the kitchen, and on to our plates.  It’s a great sit down restaurant, but they also sell a range of other items from baked goods to cool home decor.

Cafe Osage

060We tried this urban Saint Louis Restaurant on a Sunday for a late brunch, enjoying eggs served baked and over hard. Their use of local, farm raised chicken eggs and produce was impressive. We enjoyed getting a glimpse of one of their farms and green houses across from the restaurant, as well as viewing their garden supplies, produce and plants in their adjacent store. It was a restaurant we had long wanted to check out so enjoyed the adventure of trying a place clearly devoted to growing and using their own local produce.
